John Mutz- Candidate for Sonoma County Sheriff 2018
Former Station Commander John Mutz was instrumental in guiding a courageous transformation within his 3 stations in the Los Angeles Police Department — from a culture which had idolized aggressive tactics, isolation, and top-down authority, to a service-based organization that prioritized community engagement, outreach, and transparency. Change requires integrity, transparency, and courage — and the knowledge, dedication, and expertise to design and implement a plan to achieve the change over time. Calendar for Sonoma County Sheriff's Race: A primary will be held on June 5, 2018. The top 2 vote getters move on to the general election to be held on November 6, 2018.

"I retired from the Los Angeles Police Department and have lived in Sonoma County for 30 years. While I didn’t have the honor of serving directly under Capt. John Mutz, I am very familiar with his record….Mutz has been a champion of reform, transparency and community engagement for more than 25 years. It would be great if the Sonoma Sheriff’s Office could start that now. Please join me in voting for John Mutz on June 5.”
